We understand the unique procedures and protocols required for notarizing documents in a correctional facility, and we work efficiently and professionally to make the process as smooth as possible for everyone involved.

How the Process Works
We understand that arranging a notary visit at a correctional facility can be stressful. When you book a jail or detention center notary visit with LDE Ink Notary Services, here's what happens:

Contact Us in Advance
Call, email us or schedule on our booking link with the name of the incarcerated individual, the facility name and location and the type of document(s) that need to be notarized.

Check Facility Requirements
We contact the facility on your behalf to confirm visiting hours for notary services, any required forms or approvals and any restrictions on document types or materials. You do not need to contact the facility yourself.

Schedule the Appointment
We coordinate directly with the facility to schedule the visit and handle all check-in procedures upon arrival.

Document Printing & Shipping (If Needed)
If you need us to print your documents or ship them, we offer both as add-on services. Printing and shipping fees are listed on our booking link.

Notarization
We conduct the notarization according to California law and facility procedures. A valid government-issued photo ID for the incarcerated individual is required.

Document Return
Once notarization is complete, we return your completed documents to you. You may meet us at the facility, come to us or we can drop them off. Local drop-off is no charge; drop-off for locations farther out will include a travel fee. We can also mail your documents via USPS or FedEx, with shipping fees as listed on our booking link.
Important Notes
Valid ID is required. Most correctional facilities maintain ID records for incarcerated individuals
The signer must be present, coherent and willing to sign voluntarily
Documents must not be pre-signed
Family members or attorneys may help coordinate the visit but are typically not present during the notarization itself
Each facility has different rules. We handle all facility scheduling and check-in for you

Affordable & Transparent Fees
Jail notary visits start at $150, which includes one signature. Each additional signature is $15. This fee applies regardless of the type of service required, whether the document requires full notarization or only a witness signature and whether or not the signing is completed. This fee also applies if the incarcerated individual refuses to sign after we have arrived at the facility. Additional time beyond the first hour is billed at $25 per hour. Travel fees may apply for locations outside our standard service area. Contact us for a personalized quote.
